Calculating your Estimated Rank Score

The University of Auckland calculates a 'Rank Score' based on your results in one of the three major New Zealand secondary school qualifications - NCEA, CIE, and the International Baccalaureate. The Rank Score is an important part of the programme selection requirements and is used to determine eligibility to specific programmes of study. Go to the admission requirements page and select NCEA, CIE or IB to view programme specific requirements.

NCEA

To estimate your Rank Score based on NCEA results

NCEA Calculator

Go to NCEA for further details on admission requirements

CIE

(taken in NZ)

To estimate your Rank Score based on CIE results

CIE Calculator

Go to CIE for further details on admission requirements

International Baccalaureate

(taken in NZ)

Your International Baccalaureate score translates directly to your Rank Score so there is no need for a calculator. Go to international baccalaureate for further details on admission requirements.

Note: If you have a mixture of secondary school qualifications then a Rank Score can not be calculated. Please call the University on 0800 61 62 63 or email admissions@auckland.ac.nz for advice.
